Some more Public sector nastiness, from sfgate.com –
With the average officer’s salary and benefits totaling $188,000 a year, City Councilman Ignacio De La Fuente, a union leader himself, has described the situation as “unsustainable.”
They just found out its unsustainable now… If you read the rest of the article you will notice the union is actually willing to negotiate to avoid layoffs of 80 officers… That must mean even THEY realize the problem. WOW! Smart people…
Several days later, after no agreement, the 80 officers were laid off. A terrible thing for those officers families. But if governments had been responsible beforehand this never would have happened. What would we rather have – 80 officers employed but making $60,000 a year or 80 officers unemployed but the rest of their buddies making $188,000 a year. What a terrible system.
Anyways, heres some more interesting news from around the web about Jobs, the economy, and the Old Spice Guy.
